We arrived in Edinburgh late in the day on July 9. We had just enough time to walk around and explore a little before it got dark.
The next day we woke up bright and early because we had a long day of driving ahead of us!
First stop, the Kelpies. Just outside of Edinburgh are 2 giant horse heads made of metal. They were huge! It was rainy and windy, so we didn't stay long.
Next up, Stirling Castle, about an hour out of Edinburgh.
I really wanted to see cows with bangs and this was the only place that we saw them!
4 hours later, after lots of different kinds of scenery and a variety of weather we arrived at Loch Ness.
We drove half way around the lake, went to a Nessie museum and looked at Urquhart castle. It was a very beautiful area!
On our last day in Edinburgh we did a lot of walking!
We were staying right across from Edinburgh Castle and could see it when we looked out our hotel room window:

Edinburgh Castle:
After we finished going through Edinburgh Castle, we ran down the Royal Mile to make our tea time at the Holyrood Palace Tea Room. We underestimated how long it would take us to get there, so there was some running involved.
We made it! Tired, hungry and ready for tea!
After tea, back up the Royal Mile to the Scotch Whisky Experience:
We did a tour of the Scotch Whisky facility, it was interesting and very informative.
Michael tasting the different kinds of scotch:
We walked up and down several streets and went to a bunch of parks.
