My Brother's Birthday Card

This card with matching envelope for my brother's birthday was inspired by a card I had made before (see here). I used the Sweater Weather designer series paper and the birch looking paper from the Thankful Tablescape kit. I like using feathers on guys cards, not only are they easy to do, they look great too!

Oma's Birthday Card

My Oma celebrated her 81st birthday this past week. Her favorite color is yellow, so I made her this mostly yellow card. I also used the new envelope punch board to make a matching envelope. I really like having a matching envelope for my cards!

Zack's Birthday

Zack turned 4 on Saturday, and we celebrated all weekend long! Saturday morning he woke up to the gift we got him - a police/fire station that he has been wanting. He was very surprised and happy.

After breakfast, we headed out to the lake for a day of work on the cabin. At lunch, we sang happy birthday and I had made cupcakes for dessert.

We didn't have a candle, so my mom put in a toothpick - it worked :)

On Sunday we celebrated with our families. Zack wanted a firetruck birthday. Everything was decorated with a firehouse theme and Zack was thrilled!

Cheesy Italian Bread

Last night I made a really yummy bread to go with our dinner. I'm calling it Cheesy Italian bread. I mixed a bunch of recipes from Pinterest to make this super easy to make bread. We all really liked it, so I thought I would share the recipe.

2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper
1 tsp dry mustard powder

1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
3 Tablespoons of Italian Seasoning

- mix all of the dry ingredients together
- make a well in the center of dry ingredients and add the following:

2 eggs
2 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
1 1/4 cup buttermilk (or use 1 1/4 cups milk & 1 Tbsp white vinegar - this is what I did, I didn't have buttermilk on hand)

- whisk it all together until it is mixed well
- butter a loaf pan and pour batter into in

Brush top with a little bit of melted butter

- Bake @ 350 F for 40 mins or until a skewer or knife comes out of the middle clean
