Days 54-57

Friday was cool and windy, we still went for a nice walk on the beach.

Friday night Michael and I went on a date to Saltgrass Steak House and to a movie. Michael had a HUGE steak!!

Sunday we met the Carpenters at the Kemah Boardwalk. It was super fun!

The boys went on all the rides that they could. Levi was super brave on this ride that dropped really quickly:

Jakob was tall enough to go on the adult rides, so Michael went with him on all the "scary" rides. This one dropped down really fast:

Jakob and Michael on the Inverter. It flipped completely upside down. Jakob thought it was great! The boys are in the second row from the bottom on the left side.

Zack loved the Merry go Round. It was his favorite. He talked about the Zebra all day.

There was an aquarium on the boardwalk. It was pretty small, but the kids got to feed the stingrays. They splashed and swam up really close to us.

Tuesday was another beach day. We are trying to squeeze in as many beach days as we can before we leave next week!

Tuesday evening we went mini-golfing and then out for dinner on the Pier.

Zack's first time mini-golfing!

Levi getting a shot in! He got 2 hole in 1's.

Jimmy's on the Pier.

Thursday we all went to the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum. It was very interesting and the boys learned a lot about oil.

Day 47, 48, 49 & 50

Saturday we went to the NASA Space Center - it was amazing! The exhibits were fantastic and we learned so much!

Trying on space helmets.

In the control part of the space ship.

After the Space Center we went to Pappa's BBQ for supper... yummy!

Sunday we went to Lakewood church in Houston with my parents. After church we went shopping and out for lunch to PF Changs.

Monday was another great beach day!!

Monday afternoon we drove around Galveston looking at the tree sculptures. When the hurricane struck in 2008, several 100+ year old trees didn't make it. Instead of cutting them down, people got tree sculptors to carve them into different shapes. We saw mermaids, birds, guitars, chipmunks, dogs and much more.

While we were driving around looking at the sculptures we saw a man working on another tree. We talked to him and found out he is the artist who carved several of these sculptures.

Still loving the beach!!

Valentines day message:

Wednesday we went to the Rainforest pyramid at Moody Gardens. It was interesting to see all the bugs, parrots, birds, butterflies, snakes and many tropical plants.

After the rainforest pyramid we went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Jakob said it was a very rainforest-y day!

The boys doing their school work outside on a beautiful day:

Zack loves to play with play dough!

My parents arrived this week to spend the next couple of weeks with us.
All of us going for a walk on the beach before sunset.
