Levi's Kindergarten Graduation

Levi graduated from Kindergarten this week. It is hard to believe that he is going to be in grade one next year!
His class had a graduation event with a little concert and then a tour of their classroom with all the things they have learned this year.

The concert:

Levi's teacher (who is amazing!) set up a Kindertown for the month of June and the kids showed us how it worked. There was a bank, grocery store, fire hall, salon, doctors office and a restaurant. They learned how to work at each of these stations and how to be a customer at each of these places. Levi learned so much! His post on graduation day was in the restaurant, he was the server and his best buddy was the cook.

Today is the boys' last day of school. We are looking forward to a fun summer!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownie

This past weekend I made yet another recipe that I found on Pinterest. I have tried lots of recipes and a few crafts off of Pinterest and found most of them to be pretty good.

It is THE best brownie I have ever tasted! It was amazing. I ended up making another one 2 days later, only bigger, because the first one was so good.

This is the recipe I used:

Chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Drop the dough, medium sized balls, into a 9x13 pan:

For the Brownie Batter, I used 2 store bought brownie mixes. Follow the instructions on the box.
Pour into the pan, over the cookie dough balls:

Smooth the batter over the cookie dough so it covers all of it. Bake for 20 minutes at 350. It will be pretty gooey, but if you want it more like a cake than a brownie, bake it 10 minutes longer.

These Chocolate Chip Cookie brownie are so good that I had to share the recipe! Enjoy!

Father's Day

For Father's Day, our whole family went to the beach in our community and then back to Jordan & Kristy's for a BBQ. The boys had a great time running around, playing on the swings, play structure and of course in the sand!

The Lemonade Stand

Levi has wanted to do a lemonade stand for awhile now. He asks me all the time if he can have one and talks non stop about how it should look and what he would do. Jakob decided last minute that he wanted to be part of a lemonade stand too. This weekend we had a garage sale, so I told them this would be the perfect opportunity to sell their lemonade!

The finished product! The boys were thrilled with their lemonade stand and they were even more thrilled with the money they put into their bank account after the garage sale!

Jakob's New Violin

Jakob has finished his 3rd year of private violin lessons and has outgrown his 1/2 size violin. We managed to find a used 3/4 violin for a good price and it sounds quite nice. This is Jakob playing his new fiddle.

Waiting for Levi's Bus

Everyday Zack and I wait for Levi's bus on our front step. Today he wanted me to take pictures of him waiting. He's so funny! He posed in all these different spots, telling me when I should take a picture and when not too. I snapped a few in between with out him knowing of course!!

Pose number one, no smiling, instructed by Zack:

Caught him laughing:

Pose number two, on the front lawn:

Pose number 3, he leaned on the rock in our front yard, this one was pretty funny:

Climbing on to the rock, I wasn't supposed to take the picture until he was standing up. I wouldn't let him stand up fully, so we didn't get that pose in the photo shoot.

That concludes our picture taking - "Mom, the bus is here!"

Our Little Baseball Star

Jakob is really enjoying playing baseball! I went with him to his last game and he did really well. He hit 2 balls and ran the bases all the way around both times. He is one of 2 pitchers on his team and he is a pretty good little pitcher!

Jakob hitting his first of 2 balls, it went straight though second and he made it all the way around the bases!
