Monopoly

Monopoly seems to be the favorite game lately. Jakob and Levi played it together quite a bit when we were in Texas and now they are playing again almost everyday.

Playing with Uncle Jordan & Auntie Kristy.

The Drive Home

After spending a week in San Antonio we made the long trek home. From San Antonio we drove 12 hours to Tucson and stayed over 2 nights. The hotel we stayed at had a beautiful pool, so we wanted to spend a day enjoying it!

From Tucson we drove through the desert to Las Vegas. This drive was shorter, only 7 hours. The boys were excited to see all the cactus along the way and drive past Route 66. They all are amazing travelers and Zack usually slept an hour each day:

Not an inch to spare in the back!

We got to Las Vegas just in time to have a quick swim in the pool.

Then to the strip for dinner and to check things out:

We watched the Bellagio fountains and then back to the hotel to get some rest for the long day ahead of us.

The boys thought the fountain show was pretty cool!

From Las Vegas we drove 12 hours north to Butte, Montana. Sunday was our last day of driving. We left Montana and drove straight to Edmonton in 10 hours. We were all so happy to be home!

San Antonio: Natural Bridge Caverns & Wildlife Ranch

Our forth day we drove north past San Antonio to the Natural Bridge Caverns.

We walked down 180 feet into a deep cavern below the ground. We saw different layers of limestone, sedimentary rock formations and several large cavern rooms including the largest cavern room in Texas. It was really warm in the caverns with 99% humidity. It was very interesting to be under the ground that far in different rooms and walkways.

The cavern tour was a little over an hour long and when we "resurfaced" it was nice and warm outside. The boys played a little and then we had an outdoor picnic.

After our picnic, we went to a Wildlife Ranch. All of the animals were wandering around 400 acres and we could feed them or pet them as we drove past on a 4 mile loop. We saw giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelope, rhinos, ostrich, llamas and many more animals (over 50 species).

Both the Natural Bridge Caverns and the Wildlife Ranch were amazing. I would recommend anyone who is near San Antonio to make the trip to see them. Well worth it!

San Antonio: Shopping & More Shopping

Our second day in San Antonio was spent shopping. We went to the outlet malls and a few other random stores on the way home. We enjoyed the +29C weather that day as well!!!
The boys stopped at every toy and playground to get their wiggles out:

Zack tried on some boots at the western wear store:

On our third day we went to the outdoor market in downtown San Antonio:

After the downtown market we went to another outdoor market on the edge of town. My mom bought the boys bubble guns and here they are playing with them when we got home.

San Antonio: The Alamo & Riverwalk

After spending 2 amazing months in Galveston, we are on our way back home.
From Galveston we drove to San Antonio. We are spending a week in San Antonio with my parents checking out the sites.

Our first day in San Antonio we went to the Alamo.

After the Alamo we went down to the Riverwalk. We walked around, ate lunch and went on a boat ride down the river.

Taking a little rest in one of the courtyards by the river.

Our Last Day in Galveston

Tuesday was our last day in Galveston. Even though it was foggy, we went for a long walk on the beach. We collected shells and ran up and down the beach. It was a great last day!!
We were sad to leave Galveston, but excited to head home.
